You cannot rush development

Isla comes down from her room in the middle of the rugby with black marker pen all over her fingers.

I went upstairs preparing myself for black marker to be drawn all over the carpet and walls but she had got out a book and a whiteboard marker and was copying the letters on the book. Yes there was scribble all over the book but who cares!

I got some resources out that have been put away in a box for ages (as she wouldn’t have a bar of them) and she continued copying the words on a whiteboard.

Just goes to show you cannot rush developmental stages.  I have been trying to get her to do this for ages but she was obviously not ready.  Is so exciting and I am one happy mummy today with the bonus of NZ winning their rugby match. Go the ABs!

Hi my name is Sara Stythe and I am a mum of 3 beautiful girls. This is a place to share knowledge, resources and information I have learnt along the way on this unexpected journey with our unique youngest daughter. Isla is missing a tiny bit of her 2nd chromosome (2q23.1 Microdeletion Syndrome, recently known as MAND) causing autism, epilepsy and development delay. If you would like to receive my new blog posts by email you can subscribe. Thank you
